Metal Styles & Materials

Differing metal styles can depend on a variety of different building facades, metal cladding, architectural features, stainless balustrading, metal applications, spiral staircases and perforated sheet metal just to name a few.

Fabmetal has become renowned for its high quality metal styles and designs and the materials used. Our thirty years of experience has placed us at the forefront for experience and product knowledge. We are proud of our work and our design options are limited only by your imagination.

Our metal cladding has proven to be of outstanding quality, being used in some of Melbourne's most recognisable locations, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Federation Square, Melbourne Docklands and Crown Casino.

Metal Cladding

Fabmetal can clad features such as walls, lifts, panels, building facades, columns and canopies in a variety of materials and a choice of metal finishes. We laminate our materials to ensure impact resistance and rigidness is kept to a minimum. Some materials such as cooking splashbacks, require a special heat resistant board to comply with BCA requirements. Some previous cladding applications include:
  • Satin finish stainless steel and natural anodised aluminium panels forming feature walls in the refurbishment of a building
  • The new Bio 21 building for Melbourne University, which fronts Flemington Road, has stainless steel clad toilet pods incorporated into its design.
  • A feature of the cladding is the spherical wedge and curved panels forming the interface between vertical and horizontal elements
  • Coloured glass and stainless steel feature walls and columns
  • Mirror finish stainless steel with water-knifed lettering are a feature of the directory boards on the ground floor of a large office building.
  • Stainless steel balustrading and glass balustrades
